When your plan changes

Your plan is rewritten when something real changes, never on a timer. Here is the full list, and the equally deliberate list of things that leave it alone.

These rebuild your plan

  • Reporting an injury or a recovery flag, or clearing one.
  • Adding, removing or re-ranking a goal, or giving one a target date.
  • Adding, editing or removing a race.
  • Adding a sport or class, changing its settings, or removing it.
  • Changing how many coach sessions a week you want.
  • Adding a session, duplicating one, or deleting one. Your coach first checks whether the rest of your plan needs to change, and leaves it alone when it does not.
  • Asking your coach in chat and confirming the card it shows you.

While it runs you get a message saying what it is working on, and another when it lands. It usually takes a few minutes.

What the message tells you

When a change to your setup takes sessions out, the message names them and says why, for example “You're on 2 coach sessions a week now, so 6 sessions came out: Station Baseline (Thu Oct 1), Upper Strength (Sun Oct 4) and 4 more from Oct 6–11.” You see it if the app is open when your plan lands; the sessions it took out are not listed anywhere afterwards.

If a week comes back with fewer coach sessions than you asked for, the message says so and names its dates. That week in your agenda keeps a line saying how many it has, and its empty days read Not planned yet rather than rest days, until that week changes or your coach next rebuilds your plan, whether or not that rebuild finishes.

These deliberately do not

  • Moving a session. One move should not reshuffle the week.
  • Skipping one. The rest of the week stays as planned.
  • Editing a session's exercises. The change is yours and it stays.
  • Marking done, undone, or unskipping.
  • Removing a race that has already happened. That is housekeeping, not a change to your training.

How much can change

For everyday changes, such as a new goal or a session you added, your next three days stay exactly as they are. Sessions you are about to do should not move while you are planning your week around them.

Three changes are the exception, along with a full rebuild you ask for in chat. All of them may change any day, including tomorrow.

  • An injury or limitation, because safety outranks stability.
  • A change to your sports, because your new sport days land immediately and coach sessions have to move out of their way.
  • A change to how many sessions a week you want, because asking for more sessions is asking for the empty days at the front of your week to be filled. Frozen, a new number would only start the following week.

Sessions that already belong to you, because you moved, edited or added them, are never touched by a rebuild.

When nothing needed changing

Sometimes the answer is that the plan is already right. Your coach says so, naming how many sessions stay as they were. That is a real result rather than a failure, and it is why the plan does not churn every time you touch it.

Common questions

Where is the rebuild button?
There is not one, on purpose. A plan you can re-roll is a plan you stop trusting. Ask your coach in chat for a rebuild and it shows you a confirmation card first.
I changed something and my next few days look the same.
That is deliberate for everyday changes. Your next three days stay as planned so a session you were about to do does not move under you. Everything after that is fair game. Three changes reach into those days on purpose: a new or updated injury, a change to your sports, and a change to how many sessions a week you want.
I skipped a session and nothing changed.
Your coach checks whether the rest of the week actually needs adjusting, and most single skips do not. A plan that stays put is one you can rely on. Ask in chat if you do want it reworked.
Does my plan update on a schedule?
Never. Nothing happens weekly or overnight. Your plan changes only when something real changes, or when you ask.
Some of my sessions disappeared after a change.
A change that needs fewer sessions takes some out. If the app is open when your plan lands, the message names them and says why; they are not listed anywhere afterwards. Sessions you moved, edited or added yourself are never taken out.
A day says Not planned yet.
That week came back with fewer coach sessions than you asked for, so its empty days are not rest your coach chose. The line at the top of the week says how many it has. Your coach is looking at it, and you can still add a session yourself.
It says my coach is already updating my plan.
Two rebuilds cannot run at once, so your change is queued and folded into the one already running. You do not need to do anything.
A session's length went up, but nothing was rewritten.
A session's length is added up from its exercises, and it now counts a move done on each side, like a stretch held 40 seconds a side, once for each side. A session written before that change was planned on the old count, so a stretching or mobility day can read a few minutes longer than it used to. The exercises are the same, and your plan has not changed. Sessions written since are planned with both sides counted.
