Health data and consent
Injuries and cycle data are health information, which has stricter rules than the rest. Here is exactly what is stored, what you agreed to, and how to remove it.

Every account passes through a sheet at sign-up headed Train smart, stay safe. Three lines set the frame: this is a training tool and not a medical service, your plans are AI generated and can be wrong, and you know your body so adjust or stop if something feels wrong.
Then the consent itself, word for word:
Injuries you report, and your cycle phase if you track it, are health data. We store them and tell your AI coach. Your data is never sold, or shared for marketing. Tapping below is you agreeing. Delete any of it, or your account, any time.
If you told us your gender is male, the cycle clause is left out. Cycle tracking is never offered to you, so there is nothing there to agree to.
We record which version of that wording you agreed to, not just the date, so there is never a question about what was actually said.
Nothing health related is stored before you have tapped through that sheet. During sign-up your answers are held on your phone and written only once the account exists.
After that: the limitations you report with their seriousness and any notes, and, only if you turn it on, your cycle data. Turning cycle tracking off deletes it immediately.
One thing does leave your phone before the sheet. An injury or recovery flag you type yourself is checked by your coach as you add it, so that a meaningless entry cannot become safety data. Nothing is stored at that point.
Your coach does not program for pregnancy. If you report it, it says so on Home rather than writing you a plan: I am not the right coach for this yet. The coach chat gives the same answer, and the workout player offers no exercise swaps. The rest of the app is yours to use and your training history stays exactly where it is.
Moving the seriousness slider does not change this. When you are no longer pregnant, tap No longer pregnant? Switch to postpartum on Home or on the Pregnancy card in your limitations, and your coach builds your plan around your return.
That is a deliberate refusal rather than a gap. Writing a plan we cannot stand behind for someone who is pregnant is worse than saying no.
Postpartum is different and is supported. Returning to training after birth is precisely what this app is for. Report it as a limitation and your coach plans around it like any other.
The full detail of what we hold and why is under You, Settings, Privacy and data, and on the public privacy page.
Open the app, go to You, and tap the feedback row at the bottom. It reaches a person, not a queue. Or write to hello@smashcoach.app.
